Theft of medical equipment from local hospital

On October 13th 2017 two subjects were involved with a theft of Medical Equipment from a local hospital. The suspects were last seen walking north towards SW 8th and Horne.

Attempt to Identify for Theft

On October 10th 2017 Dollar General located at 1920 SW 10th Street Topeka KS reports the theft of merchandise from the store. The store reports the below subjects stole multiple jugs of Laundry Detergent. The two left in the dark colored truck shown below.

Attempt to Identify-Criminal Use of Financial Card

The Topeka Police Department is attempting to identify the woman pictured below. She is involved in the criminal use of a financial card at Target, Wal Mart, and Arbys in Topeka, KS on 11/2/2017.

FOP Foundation Fundraiser- NO Shave November

FOP Foundation Fundraiser- No Shave November
TOPEKA, Kan.-
The month of November brings a yearly fundraiser for the TPD.
Chief Kramer and members of the Topeka Police Department are participating in a fundraiser for the FOP Foundation- “No Shave November”. Our officers may have a little more hair on their face or color on their hair/nails but it is all for great causes.
Employees elect to participate by donating $50. During the dates of
November 1st- November 30th, male officers may grow facial hair or a beard and female officers may color their hair or their nails in colors outside the normal policy parameters.
All donations will go toward the FOP Foundation.
The foundation supports local charities such as:
COPS n KIDS (Formally Shop with a Cop) – around Christmas time
SPECIAL OLYMPICS-KANSAS
FOPA (Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary) – Run to Remember
Ronald McDonald House- Pull a Plane Challenge

TPD promotes two to Sergeant

Congratulations to TPDs newest SERGEANTS!!

In this promotional ceremony the Officer is asked to bring their spouse, significant other or person of choice in their life to the front. The Chief will present the officer with their new Badge and congratulate them. However, it is not just the officer that has worked hard for this promotion!
The family member has worked hard, fought hard and sacrificed much in order for the officer to be successful. The family member pins the new badge and rank on the officer and the Chief presents a certificate thanking them for their sacrifices and support.

Pedestrian struck by train identified

Victim Struck by Train Identified
TOPEKA, Kan.- On October 17th at approximately 0600 in the morning the Topeka Police Department responded to a passenger train striking a pedestrian on the railroad tracks in the area of 37th and Kansas. A victim was located and determined to have been fatally struck. Identification has been the priority for next of kin notification.
The victim has been identified as Sharon Carter, 32, of Topeka.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be conducting an investigation.
