TPD asking for assistance in Identifying suspect in aggravated robbery

Aggravated Robbery
TOPEKA, Kan.-
On 1-8-18, at approximately 1104 hours, Officers were called to the 500 block of SW 10th reference an aggravated robbery that just occurred to a business. Staff advised that a black male, approximately 15-19 years old, approximately 5’10”, 135-150 pounds, wearing a black coat with gray hood, black jeans, black mask, and armed with a knife entered the store and walked behind the counter. The male threatened staff and took an undetermined amount of money from the register. The male then left the business through a south door on foot. Staff followed the male to the area of 9th and Polk where they were able to recover the money taken. The male continued N/B on foot from 9th and Polk. CSI and DETECTIVES responded.

Update on incident 3500 Blk E 7th

Reports of shots fired leads into overnight incident

TOPEKA, Kan.-

Update January 8th**: The deceased female subject has been identified as Tiffany Montalvo,31 ,Eudora. Preliminarily, the investigation details this incident as a homicide and suicide. The Shawnee County Coroners’ Office continues their investigation. Any toxicology reports will take several weeks before results are known. The third individual inside the residence during this time will be identified at a later time.

Update January 5th**: The deceased male has been identified as Juan Lucio, 33, Topeka.

Update** A female from inside the residence was able to exit safely through a second story window to first responders and taken to be checked by medical personnel for any reactions with the chemical agents introduced into the residence.  First responders then entered the residence and located a deceased male subject inside. A deceased female subject has also been located inside the residence.  Identifications will not be released until next of kin can be notified.**

 

TPD responded to a report of a possible gunshot heard in the 3500 Blk SE 7th townhomes on January 4th at approximately 9:30 p.m. The caller reported hearing what was possibly a gunshot and then a female yelling.

Officers arrived and were able to observe an individual down inside but were unable to gain entry or to determine the extent of the individuals injuries due gunshots being fired from inside the residence toward responding officers.

TPD, Shawnee Sheriff, Shawnee County Park Police, Lawrence Police and Kansas Highway Patrol and other Law Enforcement Agencies came into the area and set a perimeter. TPD Crisis Negotiators and Response Team were called in to stabilize the incident.

Neighboring affected residences have been evacuated and the Red Cross has been called to assist residents and first responders.

Negotiators attempted to make contact and briefly spoke with the subject inside who threatened to fire at any first responders.

The individual continues to shoot out towards first responders sporadically through this incident timeframe.

Identification on the individual armed inside the residence is yet to be determined.

The area on Rice Rd between 6th and 8th has been closed for an undetermined amount of time.

The situation is still active, and very dangerous- please avoid the area.

Attempt to ID for theft of Copper

On December 18th 2017 Factory Motorparts located at 116 S Kansas Ave Topeka Kansas reports the suspect shown below stole a roll of copper wire from the business. Suspect may frequent Lets Help at 200 S Kansas Ave.

Attempt to ID for theft of customers wallets

On December 12th 2017 the below suspect stole two wallets from customers at Abigail’s Grill and Bar at 3701 SW Plaza Drive Topeka KS.
