TPD hosts Explorer CAPITAL CHALLENGE

Do you know what a Law Enforcement Explorer is?
This is a branch of the Boy Scouts of America for youth 14-21 to EXPLORE the profession of Law Enforcement. The TPD has had an EXPLORER post since the 1960’s!
These youth meet once a week to learn about different aspects of Law Enforcement through classroom time and hands on practicals. There are also competitions each year that bring together Explorer Posts from around the region to compete in police-related events.
Topeka hosted the CAPITAL CHALLENGE this past weekend with over 100 people in attendance from Oklahoma, Colorado, Olathe and Overland Park Explorer Posts.
In the end, congratulations to Aurora, Colorado Post for placing 1st in 4 Categories- Brighton, Colorado placed 1st in 2 categories, Tulsa, Oklahoma placed 1st in 4 categories.
